全球累计销售400万张的人气游戏《Dragon Age》（龙之纪元）是美国大型游戏制作公司Electronic Arts旗下的子公司BioWare开发的一款角色扮演类游戏。以其独特深邃的世界观，精致绝伦的画面以及波澜壮阔的剧情设定获得了众多游戏爱好者的喜爱。游戏分为三部曲，目前已经有两部问世。2012年，《Dragon Age》（龙之纪元）将在日本和美国两国的联合下，制成一部长约90分钟的动画。负责本次合作的单位包括日本著名的电影制作公司T.O Entertainment，OXYBOT，以及美国的动画配给公司FUNimation Entertainment。而担当此次动画电影导演的是曾操刀《PINGPONG》以及《苹果核战记》的曾利文彦。动画的剧情承接游戏一代和二代，以二代的人气角色追索者卡珊德拉为主角，讲述了她成为奥莱伊英雄的一段传奇经历。
